Slack · Schedule a message — Slack holds a message and sends it later — gives Slack a message to post at a set time. The run carries on at once; Slack posts it when the time comes, even if the workflow has finished.

Who can do this

Workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan.

Before you start

  • A Slack connection in this workspace — see Connect Slack.
  • For a private channel, @Bizomate invited to it.

Steps

  1. Select +, then in Apps select Slack, then Schedule a message.
  2. In Connection, choose your Slack connection.
  3. In Channel, choose the channel — Channels in the workspace. A private channel needs @Bizomate invited first.
  4. In Message, type the message, with {{ }} for values from earlier steps.
  5. In Send at, the date and time — 2026-10-05 09:30 — or a value from an earlier step.
  6. In Time zone, check the zone Send at is in — The workflow's time zone unless you choose another. For example (GMT+05:30) India · Kolkata.
  7. Optional: set Post as me to Yes to have it come from you — Off posts as the Bizomate app. On posts as you — you connect your own Slack account once. See Connect Slack.
  8. Select Run this step. A test schedules a real message, so choose a test channel or delete it in Slack afterwards.

Output

Field What it is
scheduled_message_id Slack's id for the scheduled message.
channel The channel's id.
post_at When it will post, with its zone — 2026-10-05 09:30 Asia/Kolkata.

Good to know

  • Up to 120 days ahead, and never in the past — Slack's own limits.
  • Send at is read in Time zone. A value that carries its own offset — 2026-10-05T09:30:00+05:30 — or ends in Z is converted to that zone.
  • The message is held by Slack, not by Bizomate. Stopping or switching off the workflow afterwards does not cancel it.
  • Runs once per item. Ten items schedule ten messages.
  • To wait inside the run instead, use Wait.

If something goes wrong

What you see Why What to do
Send at is in the past — Slack only schedules messages ahead. The time has gone. Set a later time.
Send at is more than 120 days ahead — Slack schedules up to 120 days. Too far ahead. Set an earlier time.
Send at "…" is not a date and time — write it like 2026-10-05 10:00. The value is not a date. Write it as shown, or check the earlier step.
Send at is empty when the step ran — … No time came through. Check the value it reads.
Bizomate is not in this channel. Type /invite @Bizomate in the channel, then run it again. The app is not in the channel. Invite it.
… has not connected their own account for Post as me. They connect it once from the connection on Connections. Post as me is on without an own account. Connect it, or set Post as me to No.
