A passkey is a sign-in saved on your device, unlocked with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. Once your account has one, you can sign in with it alone: no password and no code. It counts as both steps at once — the device that holds it, and the fingerprint, face or PIN that unlocks it.

Who can do this

Anyone whose account has a passkey. Add one when you first set up two-factor, or later from Settings > Two-factor. See Manage your two-factor methods.

Before you start

The passkey has to be on the device you are using, or in a password manager that syncs it there, such as iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager.

Steps

  1. Go to the Sign in page.
  2. Choose one of these:
    • Select the Email field. If your browser lists a passkey for Bizomate among its suggestions, choose it.
    • Or select Sign in with a passkey, under the password form.
  3. A box shows Waiting for your passkey — Confirm it's you with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. Your browser opens its own prompt.
  4. Confirm with your fingerprint, face or device PIN.
  5. Bizomate signs you in and opens the page you were trying to reach, or your workflows. If invitations are waiting for you, they show first.

What happens next

  • The passkey's last used date updates under Settings > Two-factor — last used today.
  • A sign-in from a browser Bizomate has not seen on your account before sends you a New sign-in email, as any sign-in does.

Good to know

  • No human check. A passkey sign-in does not wait for the human check, because a passkey cannot be guessed.
  • It only works on Bizomate. A passkey is tied to Bizomate's address, so a fake sign-in page cannot use it.
  • Sessions last 12 hours from sign-in, however you signed in. Keep me signed in belongs to the password form and does not apply to a passkey sign-in.
  • If sign-in on the account is paused after five failed attempts, a passkey sign-in waits too, until the 15 minutes are up.
  • Signing in with a password on an account that has a passkey asks for the passkey as the second step. See Confirm your second step when you sign in.

If something goes wrong

What you see Why What to do
The passkey didn't go through. Try it again, or sign in with your password. You cancelled the prompt, it timed out, the device offered no passkey for Bizomate, or the passkey is no longer on your account. Select Try the passkey again, or sign in with your email and password.
Your browser says there are no passkeys for this site The passkey is on another device and does not sync here. Sign in with your password and second step, then add a passkey on this device.
Sign-in is paused on this account Five attempts failed. Wait 15 minutes, or reset your password.
