Archive a workspace when its work is finished — a project wound up, a team merged. Nobody can open it any more, but nothing is deleted: the owner or a company admin can restore it, as it was, whenever it is needed again. There is no way to delete a workspace.

Who can do this

  • Workspace role: Admin. Others do not see Archive workspace.
  • Restoring it afterwards takes the company's Owner or a company Admin.

Before you start

Nothing needs switching off first: archiving stops every workflow in the workspace. (The archive box counts them for you.)

Steps

  1. Select your avatar at the top right, then Settings.
  2. Under Workspace, select General.
  3. Under Danger zone, beside Archive this workspace, select Archive workspace. The button shows Checking while Bizomate counts the workflows.
  4. A box asks "Archive Consulace?" and says how many workflows it has — for example "Three workflows stop running as soon as you do this." — and "Nothing is deleted — a company admin can restore the workspace whenever you want it back."
  5. Select Archive workspace. (Select Cancel to keep it.)

The page reloads and you are moved to your most recent other workspace in the company.

What happens next

  • Nobody can open it. It leaves everyone's workspace menu and All workspaces. Anyone working in it is moved to another of their workspaces.
  • Its workflows stop. Schedules, webhooks and app triggers start no run while it is archived, and its forms close to new entries. A run already waiting to start is skipped.
  • Everything is kept: workflows, versions, projects, connections, lists, variables and run history.
  • Invitations to it stop working. Someone opening one sees "That workspace is no longer open".
  • It no longer counts towards the plan's workspace limit. Its members still hold their seats.
  • If it was the company's last active workspace, everyone in the company lands on No active workspace here, which says what was archived, when, and by whom. See When there is no workspace to open.

Good to know

  • When it is restored, its workflows come back switched off. Someone switches back on the ones that should run.
  • To stop one workflow, switch it off on the Workflows list instead of archiving the whole workspace.
