The company's details — its legal name, billing address and tax number — appear on every invoice, and the name shows in the workspace menu, on invitations and in notifications. Change them when the company is renamed, moves, or registers for GST.

Who can do this

  • Company role: Owner. Everyone else in the company sees the details read-only, marked Read only, with "Only the owner, Rohan Mehta, can change these."

Steps

  1. Select your avatar at the top right, then Settings.
  2. Under Company, select Plan and billing.
  3. Scroll to Company details — "The company's legal details. They appear on every invoice." It is marked Owner only.
  4. In Legal company name, type the company's registered name — for example Consulace Business Solutions Private Limited.
  5. In Billing address, type the address for invoices.
  6. In GSTIN (optional) — or Tax ID (optional) outside India — type the company's number, or leave it blank.
  7. Select Save company details. (Select Cancel to undo what you typed.)

The message Company details saved says "They apply from the next invoice." If you changed the name, the page reloads first so the new name shows everywhere.

What happens next

  • Changes apply from the next invoice. Invoices already issued keep the details they went out with.
  • The new company name shows in your workspace chip straight away. Everyone else sees it the next time they switch workspace or sign in, or within about 30 minutes.
  • The workspace names do not change. Each workspace has its own name.

Good to know

  • A GSTIN is 15 characters, like 29AAKCC4821M1Z6. Bizomate checks its shape only. It is printed on every invoice so the company can claim input tax credit.
  • The country, and with it the data region, cannot be changed.

If something goes wrong

What you see Why What to do
Enter the company's legal name. Legal company name is empty. Type the name.
That is not a GSTIN. It is 15 characters, like 29AAKCC4821M1Z6. Leave it blank if the company is not GST-registered. The number is not the shape of a GSTIN. Check it against the GST certificate, or leave it blank.
Not saved — Only the owner can change the company's details. You are not the owner, or ownership changed while the page was open. Ask the owner.
