The company's plan is changed on Plan and billing, by the company's owner. Online payment is not open yet, so today the owner can move the company to Free at any time and ask to be told the day each paid plan opens. This article covers both, and what each button on the plan cards means.
Who can do this
Only the company's Owner. Admins and members can open Plan and billing and see the plans, but their buttons are greyed out: paid plans read Coming soon, and the Free card's button reads Downgrade with the note "Only the owner changes the plan." when you point at it.
Before you start
Know which plan you want — Plans compared has the figures side by side.
Steps
Ask to be told when a paid plan opens
- Select your picture at the top right, then Settings.
- Under Company, select Plan and billing.
- Under Plans, find the Starter or Pro card. Its button reads Tell me when it's ready. Point at it and it says, for example, "Move up to Pro opens when online payment does."
- Select Tell me when it's ready. A toast says You are on the list — "We will email rohan@consulace.com the day Pro opens."
- The card's button now reads We will email you, and cannot be selected again.
Move the company to Free
- On Plan and billing, find the Free card and select Downgrade.
- A confirmation titled Change plan opens. During the Pro trial it reads "Switch to Free? This ends your trial."; otherwise "Switch to Free? The change takes effect immediately."
- Select Switch to Free to go ahead, or close the dialog to leave things as they are.
- A toast says Plan changed — "You are now on Free." The Free card is now tagged Your plan and its button reads Current plan.
What the button on each card means
| Button | When you see it |
|---|---|
| Current plan (greyed out) | This is the company's plan. |
| Keep Pro | The company is on the Pro trial. While payments are closed this reads Tell me when it's ready instead. |
| Move up to Pro | A bigger plan than the company's. While payments are closed this reads Tell me when it's ready. |
| Downgrade | The Free plan. |
| Talk to us | Enterprise. It opens a new support ticket. |
| Coming soon (greyed out) | A paid plan, seen by someone who is not the owner. |
| We will email you (greyed out) | The owner has already asked to be told about this plan. |
What happens next
- Moving to Free takes effect at once, and the trial ends if the company was on one. A trial is given once per person, so it does not come back.
- Nothing is switched off or deleted when you move to Free. Workflows that are switched on stay on. The Free limits apply to what you add or switch on next — a sixth workflow in a workspace cannot be switched on until one is switched off.
- Workflows that use a premium connection (◇) stop running on their own. Each time one is triggered, the run is skipped with the reason, and it runs again from its next trigger once the company is on a paid plan.
- List writes stop if the company is over 1,000 rows or 2 lists; reads keep working. See What a list is not for.
- When a paid plan opens, everyone who asked is emailed that day at the address they were signed in with. Choosing the plan then puts the company on it straight away and removes it from the list.
Good to know
- The plan covers the whole company — the page says so at the top: "The subscription covers the whole company — every workspace shares it."
- The Monthly / Annual switch opens on the way the company pays now, so the comparison starts from where you are.
- Only the owner can change the plan. To hand that to someone else, the owner sends an ownership offer from Transfer ownership, further down the same page — see Transfer company ownership.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Plan not changed — "Pro opens when online payment does. Ask to be told, and we will email you that day." | Paid plans are not open yet | Select Tell me when it's ready on that plan's card. |
| Plan not changed — "That plan is not offered any more." | The plan was withdrawn while the page was open | Refresh the page and choose from the plans shown. |
| Not added — "Pro cannot be waited for." | That plan cannot be asked for | Refresh the page and try again, or open a ticket in the Billing category. |
| All the buttons are greyed out | You are not the owner | Ask the owner, named at the top of the page ("Owner: Rohan Mehta"). |
