A company has exactly one owner — the only person who can change its plan and the card. To hand that on, the owner sends an ownership offer by email. Nothing changes until the other person accepts. When they do, they become the owner and you become a company admin, keeping all your access except the billing.

Who can do this

  • Company role: Owner. Nobody else sees Transfer ownership.
  • You can offer the company to anyone — someone already in it, or someone outside it. If they have no Bizomate account, they are asked to make one.

Steps

  1. Select your avatar at the top right, then Settings.
  2. Under Company, select Plan and billing.
  3. Scroll to Transfer ownership — "Only the owner can change the plan or the card. You can offer that to anyone, in the company or outside it."
  4. In Their email address, type the new owner's address — for example asha@consulace.com.
  5. Select Send offer. The button shows Sending.

The message Ownership offer sent says "We emailed asha@consulace.com. Nothing changes until they accept." The card now shows Waiting on asha@consulace.com — "Offered 2 October · expires 9 October at 18:00. You are still the owner until they accept."

While you wait:

  • Select Resend to email a fresh link. The old one stops working.
  • Select Cancel offer to withdraw it. A box asks "Cancel the offer to asha@consulace.com? The link in their email stops working. You can send a new one later." Select Cancel offer. The message Offer cancelled says "The link sent to asha@consulace.com no longer works."

What happens next

  • They get an email, "Rohan Mehta is offering you Consulace Business Solutions Private Limited", with a link. If they have a Bizomate account, the offer is also in their notification centre under Needs you.
  • The offer lasts 7 days. Only one offer is open at a time: sending a new one cancels the last.
  • When they accept: they become the owner — the only person who can change the plan and the card — and you become a company Admin. You are told in your notifications: "Asha Raghunathan is now the owner of Consulace Business Solutions Private Limited" — "You are an admin now. You keep your access, but not the plan or the card."
  • If they were in none of the company's workspaces, they are made an admin of every active workspace, so they have somewhere to work.
  • If they decline, you are told "Asha Raghunathan declined your ownership offer" — "Nothing changed. You are still the owner of Consulace Business Solutions Private Limited."
  • The next invoice goes to their card once they add one. On a trial, the trial carries on as it is.

Good to know

  • Transferring is how an owner who is leaving the company hands it on. The owner cannot leave their last workspace in the company until someone has accepted.
  • After the transfer you are an admin: you can still create workspaces and restore archived ones, and keep your role in each workspace.

If something goes wrong

What you see Why What to do
Enter the address of the person taking it on. Their email address is empty. Type the address.
Enter a valid email address. The address is not complete. Correct it.
Offer not sent — You already own it. Enter the address of the person taking it on. You typed your own address. Type the new owner's address.
Offer made, email not sent The offer is open but the email could not be sent. Select Resend.
Offer not sent — Only the owner can offer the company to someone else. Ownership changed while the page was open. Refresh the page.
