A Brevo connection uses your own Brevo account. Brevo steps send email and SMS and change your contacts, and Brevo counts them against your Brevo plan and SMS credits — Bizomate does not resell them.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors, on any plan — Brevo is not a premium connection. Viewers see the connection but cannot add or change it.
On Brevo's side, someone who can manage API keys — usually the account's owner or an administrator.
Before you start
- A Brevo account. For email, a sender or domain verified in Brevo. For SMS, SMS credits in Brevo.
Steps
In Brevo, make an API key:
- Sign in to Brevo at app.brevo.com.
- Select your name at the top right, then SMTP & API.
- Open API keys and select Generate a new API key.
- Give it a name — for example Bizomate — and generate it.
- Copy the key. It starts with
xkeysib-. Brevo shows it only this once.
In Bizomate, add the connection:
- Select Connections in the bar at the top, then + Add connection.
- Under Communication, select Brevo. It reads "Stored credential".
- In Connection name, type a name — for example Consulace Brevo.
- Paste the key in API key — Brevo › your name › SMTP & API › API keys. It is hidden as you type.
- Leave Test the connection before saving ticked. Bizomate asks Brevo for the account before keeping the key.
- Select Save connection. The button reads Testing, then the dialog closes.
The toast "Connection added" says "“Consulace Brevo” is ready. Every workflow in this workspace can use it."
What happens next
- Brevo steps list it under Connection: Send a transactional email, Send a transactional SMS, Create or update a contact, Add contact to list and Remove contact from list.
- Test in the connection's panel answers "Reached" and the company name on the Brevo account — for example "Reached Consulace Business Solutions Private Limited · Brevo".
Good to know
- Use an API key, not an SMTP key. Brevo's SMTP & API page has both; only an API key, starting
xkeysib-, works here. - Brevo may block addresses it does not know. If your Brevo account blocks unknown IP addresses for API calls, it refuses Bizomate. Brevo lets you change this under its security settings for authorised IPs.
- A new key. If you delete the key in Brevo, the connection stops working. In Bizomate, open the connection's panel, select Revoke and Revoke connection, then Reconnect, paste the new key and select Reconnect. With Test the connection before saving ticked, Reconnect tries the key first and changes nothing if Brevo refuses it.
- What it costs. Emails count against your Brevo plan; each SMS spends Brevo SMS credits.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Fill in API key." | The box is empty. | Paste the key. |
| Brevo refused it — "Brevo refused: Key not found. Check the connection's details on Connections. Nothing was saved." | The key is wrong, deleted, cut short, or an SMTP key. | Generate a new API key in Brevo and paste the whole of it. |
| Brevo refused it — "Brevo refused: … unrecognised IP address … Nothing was saved." | Brevo blocks API calls from addresses it has not authorised. | Change Brevo's authorised IPs setting so it accepts calls from Bizomate, then try again. |
| "The connection has no API key. Reconnect it on Connections and fill it in." (in a run) | The connection's details are incomplete. | Revoke it and Reconnect with the key filled in. |
| "Could not reach Brevo: …" or "Brevo did not answer within 30 seconds." | Brevo could not be reached. | Try again in a few minutes. |
