A Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace connection asks the service only for what the steps in your workspace use — reading mail only once a step reads mail, for example. When you add a step that needs something the connection was never given, the step says so, and Reconnect asks the service for the old permissions plus the new one.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors. A Viewer sees the note on the step but no Reconnect button.
Before you start
You need a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace connection, and a step that uses it.
Steps
- Open the workflow in the designer and select the step. If its connection lacks a permission, its settings panel shows a note at the top — for example Needs permission to read and write calendars: "Your Microsoft 365 connection was made before this step asked to read and write calendars. Reconnect to allow it — Microsoft shows its own screen, and everything set here is kept." The step reads Needs setup on the canvas.
- Select Reconnect in the note. Connections opens with the window Reconnect Consulace Outlook.
- Read Microsoft will ask you to allow: (or Google will ask you to allow:). Each permission shows either:
- New, with the steps that need it — "New · Create an event, List events".
- Already allowed, with how many steps use it — "Already allowed · 3 steps use it".
- Select Continue to Microsoft (or Continue to Google).
- Sign in as the same account the connection uses. "Signing in as someone else connects their account instead."
- On the service's screen, review what Bizomate asks for and allow it — Accept on Microsoft's, Continue or Allow on Google's.
You are brought back to the step in the designer. The note is gone and the step no longer reads Needs setup.
What happens next
- The connection records what the service actually granted. The connection's panel lists it under What Microsoft allows or What Google allows.
- Every step using that connection can now use the new permission. Workflows using the connection keep running while you do this.
Good to know
What each permission reads as, and the steps that ask for it:
| Bizomate says | Asked for by |
|---|---|
| Your profile | Every Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace connection — who signed in. |
| Stay connected | Every Microsoft 365 connection — renewing the sign-in without you. |
| Read and send mail | Outlook steps. Send, reply and forward also ask for it, used only for attachments over 3 MB. |
| Read and write calendars | Outlook Calendar steps. |
| Post to Teams channels | Microsoft Teams · Send a message to a channel. |
| See your teams and channels | The Team and Channel lists in the Teams step. |
| Send email as you | Gmail · Send an email. |
| See and change your calendars | Google Calendar steps and trigger. |
| Files you pick | Google Sheets steps and trigger. Bizomate sees only the spreadsheets you choose with Google's picker. |
- Adding a new connection asks at once for everything the workspace's steps already use for that service, so you do not have to reconnect straight after.
- A list in a step (Team, Channel, Calendar, Folder) that cannot load because of a missing permission says so, with Reconnect: "Microsoft would not list your channels: the connection cannot see your teams and channels yet. Reconnect to allow it." What you set in the step is kept.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The note is still there after reconnecting | The account did not grant the permission — it was unticked, or your organisation does not let you allow it. | Reconnect again and allow it. If your organisation blocks it, ask your IT admin — see Approving Bizomate for your Microsoft organisation. |
| Not connected — "The provider declined the connection." | The service refused, often because an admin must approve Bizomate. | Ask your IT admin to approve Bizomate, then reconnect. |
| Could not load the channels — "Microsoft would not list your channels: the sign-in is no longer accepted. Reconnect it." | The sign-in itself has gone. | Select Reconnect. |
