Every list step records what it did on the run's page: the rows it found, or the rows it added, changed or deleted, with their values before and after. The record is kept as it was at the moment of the step, so editing the rows later does not change what the run says it did.

Who can do this

Everyone in the workspace who can see the run — Admin, Editor and Viewer.

Steps

  1. Select Runs in the bar at the top of the page, and open the run. See Find a run in run history.
  2. Under Steps, select the list step to open it.
  3. Read the panel at the top of the step. Its heading names the list and what happened:
    • Customers · read, with 3 rows found or Nothing found, for Find rows and Find one row.
    • Processed invoices · written, with a count such as 5 rows added, or 2 rows added · 3 updated, for steps that write.
    • Processed invoices · the write was refused, or · failed, when the step failed.
  4. For a step that read, read It looked for — the conditions with the run's values filled in, such as status is paid and amount greater than 5000 — and the table of the first four rows found.
    • When it found more than four, select Download all 42 to save every row it found as a CSV file.
  5. For a step that wrote, read the table for each row: Column, Before and After. Changed values are marked; unchanged and deleted say so, and · not there before marks a value that was empty.
    • For Add or update a row, a line says which it did: Matched on invoice_no = INV-20260814, which was already there — so it was updated, not added., or Nothing had invoice_no = INV-20260814, so a row was added with every value the step set.

What happens next

Nothing changes in the list. The record stays with the run for as long as the run is kept. See How long runs and their files are kept.

Good to know

  • Up to 20 changed rows are kept per write, three shown on the page (five for deletes). The count is always whole: The first 3 of 140 are kept here; the count is whole.
  • Each found row went on as its own item after Find rows, so the steps after it ran once per row.
  • The step's Input and Output are below the panel, as for any step.
  • The record is the step's own: Kept as it was at the moment of the write. Editing the row afterwards does not change what this run says it did — which is the point of keeping it.
