Projects group workflows in a workspace — one for finance, one for sales. Moving a workflow between projects only changes where it is listed. It keeps running exactly as it did.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors. Viewers do not see Move to a project.
Before you start
The workspace needs at least one project. Until it has one, Move to a project does not appear. See Grouping workflows into projects.
Steps
- Select Workflows in the bar at the top of the page.
- On the workflow's row, select Move to a project (the arrows).
- The dialog Move “…” says Projects only group workflows. Moving one changes nothing about how it runs.
- In Into project, choose the project — or Ungrouped to take it out of every project.
- Select Move workflow. The button reads Moving while it works.
A toast says Workflow moved — “…” is in Finance now. or “…” is ungrouped now.
What happens next
- The Project column shows the new project at once.
- If you were looking at one project in the filter, a workflow moved out of it leaves the list.
- Nothing is published, switched on or off, or changed in the workflow.
Good to know
- A workflow is in one project at most.
- You can also choose a project when you make a copy (Into project in Copy a workflow) or import a file (see Import workflows from a file).
- A new workflow is made in whichever project you are looking at in the filter.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Move to a project is not on the row | The workspace has no projects, or you are a Viewer. | Create a project first, or ask an Admin or Editor. |
| Something went wrong — Nothing was changed. Try again. | The move was not saved. | Try again. |
