If you do not want to join a workspace you were invited to, decline the invitation. The person who invited you sees it marked declined, and its seat is freed straight away. To join later, they would have to invite you again.

Who can do this

The person the invitation was sent to, signed in with that address.

Steps

  1. Open the list of invitations, either way:
    • Sign in. If the invitation is new, the After sign-in screen lists it.
    • Or select the bell at the top right, find the invitation under Needs you, and select Review invitation.
  2. On the invitation, select Decline.
  3. The card asks "Decline this invitation?" — "Rohan Mehta will see that you declined. To join later, they would need to invite you again."
  4. Select Decline invitation. (Select Keep it to go back.)

The invitation leaves the list. When nothing else is waiting, select Continue (or Continue to …) to carry on.

What happens next

  • The workspace's admins see the invitation under Pending invitations with a Declined label, and can Invite again or Clear it.
  • The seat it held is free at once.
  • The invitation clears itself from your notifications.
  • Nothing about your own company or workspaces changes.

Good to know

  • The invitation email's page has Not now, not Decline. Not now leaves the invitation waiting.
  • An invitation you do nothing with expires after 7 days.
  • Opening a declined invitation's link later shows "You declined this invitation" — "To join Consulace now, ask Rohan Mehta to invite you again."

If something goes wrong

What you see Why What to do
That invitation could not be declined. Try again. Something failed. Nothing changed. Try again.
The invitation is not on the list It has expired, been cancelled, or was sent to another of your addresses. Nothing to do. If it went to another address, sign in with that one.
