Wait — Pauses the run before the next step — holds the run for a set time, then carries on from where it stopped. Use it for a reminder two days after an invoice, or a follow-up next week.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan.
Steps
- Select + where the pause should be. In the step picker, open Timing and select Wait.
- In For, type how many — it starts at 5. Up to 30 days. A test run does not wait — the item goes straight on.
- In Of, choose minutes, hours or days.
The card reads Wait · 2 days.
Output
The items as they came. Waiting changes when, not what.
What happens next
- The run shows as waiting, with when it picks up. It is not stuck, and it uses no runs while it waits.
- It carries on exactly where it stopped, with everything the earlier steps found.
- In a test, it is skipped — the card says skipped — so you are not left watching.
Good to know
- At least 1 minute, at most 30 days.
- Not inside Loop Over Items. Put it after the loop.
- Waits are the way past a run's 15-minute limit: the time between Waits is what counts.
- If the plan changes while a run waits so that a later step needs a paid plan, the run stops there, failed, saying why.
- Run this step is not offered for a Wait — there is nothing to run on its own.
If something goes wrong
| What the run says | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Wait for at least a minute and at most 30 days. | For is 0, empty, or more than 30 days. | Set a time within that. |
| Needs setup: a Wait cannot run inside Loop Over Items. Move it after the loop. | The Wait is on a loop's repeated path. | Move it. |
