The Zoom registrant steps sign someone up for a meeting or webinar that needs registration — from a form or a payment, say — and give back that person's own join link.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan.
Before you start
- A Zoom connection in this workspace. See Connect Zoom.
- A meeting with Registration required on, or a webinar. Webinars need Zoom's webinar add-on.
The steps
| Step | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add a registrant | Registers someone for a meeting that needs registration. |
| Add a webinar registrant | Registers someone for a webinar. |
Steps
- Select +, then in Apps select Zoom, or search Zoom.
- Choose Add a registrant or Add a webinar registrant.
- Choose the Connection.
- In Meeting or Webinar, give its id or link — from Create a meeting, or copied from Zoom.
- Fill in Email, First name and, optionally, Last name — usually
{{ }}from the trigger. - Optional: Registration questions, one per line as question: answer. Zoom's own questions go by their names —
phone,org,job_title,address,city,state,zip,country,industry,comments; any other line answers one of the meeting's own questions, by its title — What would you like to cover?: Onboarding. A line with no answer is left out. - Select Run this step, then check Output. A test registers the person for real.
Output
| Step | What comes back |
|---|---|
| Add a registrant | id (the registrant's), meetingId, email, firstName, lastName, joinUrl. |
| Add a webinar registrant | id (the registrant's), webinarId, email, firstName, lastName, joinUrl. |
Good to know
- The same email twice — what happens depends on the meeting's registration settings in Zoom; the step gives back what Zoom answers.
- Zoom's own confirmation email goes to the registrant if the meeting is set to send it.
- Runs once per item.
If something goes wrong
| What the run says | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom's reason — registration is not enabled | The meeting does not need registration. | Turn on Registration required for it — Update a meeting can. |
| "“…” is not a Zoom meeting id — the number in its join link, 857 4606 5432 say." (or webinar id) | Meeting or Webinar holds something else. | Give the id or the link. |
| "Zoom says the account's daily allowance of requests for this API is used. It resets at 2026-10-08 00:00 UTC." | Zoom limits registrations a day. | Run again after the time it gives. |
| Zoom's reason, naming a scope | The Zoom app lacks a scope. | Add it in the Zoom app. |
