A DeepSeek connection lets the DeepSeek step ask DeepSeek's chat and reasoning models, using your company's own API key. Bizomate does not pay for or resell AI use: DeepSeek takes it from your account's balance, and each run's output shows what it used.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan — DeepSeek is not a premium connection. Viewers see the connection but cannot add or change it.
Before you start
- A balance. DeepSeek is paid in advance: top up the account before the key works.
- Where your data goes. DeepSeek processes and stores requests on its own servers in China. Check this is acceptable for what your workflows send — customer details, say — before you connect.
Steps
In DeepSeek, make the key:
- Sign in at platform.deepseek.com.
- Top up under Top up if the balance is empty.
- Open API keys and select Create new API key. Name it — for example Bizomate.
- Copy the key. DeepSeek shows it only once.
In Bizomate, add the connection:
- Select Connections in the bar at the top, then + Add connection.
- Under AI, select DeepSeek. It reads "Stored credential".
- In Connection name, type a name — for example Consulace DeepSeek.
- Paste the key in API key. "Stored encrypted. It is never shown again after you save."
- Optional: if the key has an end date, choose it in This key expires on · optional.
- Leave Test the connection before saving ticked. Bizomate lists DeepSeek's models and reads the balance before keeping it.
- Select Save connection. The button reads Testing, then the dialog closes.
The toast "Connection added" says "“Consulace DeepSeek” is ready. Every workflow in this workspace can use it."
What happens next
- Test in the connection's panel answers with the balance — Reached DeepSeek · balance 18.40 USD, in US dollars when the account holds them. Select Test again whenever you want the current balance; it costs nothing.
- In the designer, the Ask a model step under DeepSeek lists it under Connection.
Good to know
- When the balance runs out, steps fail until it is topped up. Check it with Test before a busy month.
- To use a new key: open the connection's panel and select Replace key, paste the new key and select Replace key. The old one is used until then. With Test the connection before saving ticked, nothing changes if DeepSeek refuses it. The toast says "Key replaced".
