A Zoom connection lets the Zoom steps create, change and delete meetings, add registrants and fetch recordings, and lets Zoom · New recording start runs when a cloud recording is ready.
You connect with a Server-to-Server OAuth app that you make in your own Zoom account. It acts for the whole account, so it does not depend on one person's sign-in. Sign in with Zoom comes later, once Bizomate's own Zoom app is published.
Who can do this
- In Bizomate: workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan — Zoom is not a premium connection. Viewers see the connection but cannot add or change it.
- In Zoom: a Zoom account owner or admin, or someone they allow to build apps.
Steps
In Zoom, make the app:
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace, at marketplace.zoom.us.
- Select Develop, then Build App, and choose Server-to-Server OAuth App. Name it — Bizomate.
- On Scopes, add what the steps need: view users; view and manage meetings and their registrants; view and manage webinar registrants; view cloud recordings. Zoom lists its scopes under those names — users, meetings, webinars, recordings.
- Activate the app.
- From App Credentials, copy the Account ID, Client ID and Client secret.
In Bizomate:
- Select Connections in the bar at the top, then + Add connection.
- Under Communication, select Zoom.
- In Connection name, type a name — for example Consulace Zoom.
- Paste the Account ID, Client ID and Client secret. The secret is hidden as you type.
- Leave Test the connection before saving ticked.
- Select Save connection. It reads Testing while Zoom is asked for the account.
The toast "Connection added" says "“Consulace Zoom” is ready. Every workflow in this workspace can use it."
What happens next
- The connection appears under Communication. The secret is never shown again.
- Test answers with the account owner's email and how many active users the account has: Reached rohan@consulace.com · Zoom, 14 users.
- The Zoom steps and New recording list it under Connection.
Good to know
- The connection acts for the whole account. Steps can create meetings for any user in it — choose the Host on Create a meeting.
- Bizomate swaps the three values for an access token that lasts an hour, and uses it until five minutes before it runs out. The token is never shown or kept in a run.
- Instant triggers — Meeting started, Meeting ended, Recording completed, New registrant, Participant joined — come with Sign in with Zoom, once Bizomate's Zoom app is published. Until then Zoom has New recording, which checks every 5 minutes on paid plans and every 15 on Free.
- Zoom limits how many requests an account makes each day. When it says the allowance is used, a step says so and when it resets, and New recording pauses until then.
- Deleting or deactivating your Zoom app, or regenerating its secret, stops the connection. Paste the new details with Edit.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Zoom refused it — Zoom refused: Invalid client_id or client_secret. Check the connection's details on Connections. Nothing was saved." | The Client ID or Client secret was mistyped. | Copy both again from App Credentials. |
| "Zoom refused: … Check the connection's details on Connections." with another reason | The Account ID is wrong, or the app is not activated. | Check the Account ID and that the app is active. |
| "Zoom gave no access token for the Account ID, Client ID and Client secret. Check the app is activated." | Zoom answered without a token. | Activate the app, then test again. |
| A step fails with Zoom's reason, naming a scope | The app lacks that scope. | Add the scope in the Zoom app, then run again. |
| "Could not reach Zoom: …" or "Zoom did not answer within 30 seconds." | Zoom could not be reached. | Try again in a few minutes. |
