Shopify · Fulfil an order — Marks what is left of an order fulfilled, with tracking — tells Shopify an order has been sent. Use it when your warehouse or courier system says a parcel has left, so the customer gets Shopify's shipping confirmation with the tracking number.

Who can do this

Workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan. Viewers see the step's settings but cannot change them.

Before you start

  • A Shopify connection with the orders permissions — see Connect Shopify.
  • The order's id — from a Shopify trigger, or Find an order.

Steps

  1. Select + where the step should go. In the step picker, open Apps, select Shopify, then Fulfil an order.
  2. In Connection, choose your Shopify connection.
  3. In Order, the order's id — for example {{ trigger.id }}.
  4. Optional: in Tracking number, the courier's number for the parcel.
  5. Optional: in Carrier, the courier's name — Delhivery. It is sent only with a tracking number.
  6. Tell the customer is on: Shopify emails the customer that the order is on its way. Switch it off to fulfil quietly.
  7. Select Run this step to try it. This fulfils the real order.

Output

Field What it is
id Shopify's id for the fulfilment.
status Its status, such as success.
orderId The order's id.
trackingNumber, trackingCompany As sent.

Good to know

  • Everything left is fulfilled together. The step fulfils every item of the order that is still open or in progress, in one fulfilment. Items already fulfilled are left as they are.
  • One tracking number goes on the fulfilment. To send items in separate parcels with their own numbers, fulfil them in Shopify.
  • Shopify · Order fulfilled starts its runs when an order is fulfilled this way too — mind a workflow that fulfils orders and also starts from fulfilled ones.

If something goes wrong

What you see Why What to do
That order has nothing left to fulfil. Every item is fulfilled already, or the order is cancelled or on hold. Check the order in Shopify.
Order is empty when the step ran — an earlier step may not have given the value it names. The value came out empty. Check the value it reads.
Shopify refused: Not Found. No order has that id — often the number (#1001) given instead. Use id from the trigger or Find an order.
Shopify refused: … Check the connection's details on Connections. naming a fulfilment permission The app does not have permission to fulfil orders. Tick the permission Shopify names on the app's Configuration tab, save, then run the step again.
