A Mailchimp connection uses your own Mailchimp account. Mailchimp steps change your audiences and send your campaigns, and they count against your Mailchimp plan — Bizomate does not resell them.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors, on any plan — Mailchimp is not a premium connection. Viewers see the connection but cannot add or change it.
On Mailchimp's side, someone who can make API keys — usually the account's owner or an administrator.
Before you start
A Mailchimp account with at least one audience.
Steps
In Mailchimp, make an API key:
- Sign in to Mailchimp.
- Select your profile picture at the top right, then Profile.
- Open Extras › API keys and select Create A Key.
- Give it a name — for example Bizomate — and generate it.
- Copy the whole key. It ends with a dash and a few letters and numbers, such as
-us21— that ending says where your account is kept. Mailchimp shows the key only this once.
In Bizomate, add the connection:
- Select Connections in the bar at the top, then + Add connection.
- Under Communication, select Mailchimp. It reads "Stored credential".
- In Connection name, type a name — for example Consulace Mailchimp.
- Paste the key in API key — Mailchimp › Profile › Extras › API keys. Copy the whole key — the ending after the dash says where your account is. It is hidden as you type.
- Leave Test the connection before saving ticked. Bizomate asks Mailchimp for the account before keeping the key.
- Select Save connection. The button reads Testing, then the dialog closes.
The toast "Connection added" says "“Consulace Mailchimp” is ready. Every workflow in this workspace can use it."
What happens next
- Mailchimp steps list it under Connection: Add or update a subscriber, Add or remove tags, Unsubscribe, Find a subscriber, Create a campaign and Send a campaign.
- Their Audience list shows the account's audiences, with how many members each has.
- Test in the connection's panel answers "Reached" and the account's name — for example "Reached Consulace · Mailchimp".
Good to know
- A key gives full access to the Mailchimp account. Keep one key for Bizomate, so you can revoke it on its own.
- A new key. If you revoke the key in Mailchimp, the connection stops working. In Bizomate, open the connection's panel, select Revoke and Revoke connection, then Reconnect, paste the new key and select Reconnect. With Test the connection before saving ticked, Reconnect tries the key first and changes nothing if Mailchimp refuses it.
- What it costs. Contacts and sends count against your Mailchimp plan.

| Mailchimp refused it — "The Mailchimp API key has no data centre at its end (like -us21). Copy the whole key. Nothing was saved." | The key was copied without its ending. | Copy the whole key, ending included. |
| Mailchimp refused it — "Mailchimp refused: … Check the connection's details on Connections. Nothing was saved." | The key is wrong or was revoked in Mailchimp. | Make a new key and paste the whole of it. |
| "The connection has no API key. Reconnect it on Connections and fill it in." (in a run) | The connection's details are incomplete. | Revoke it and Reconnect with the key filled in. |
