Brevo · Send a transactional SMS — Sends one SMS through Brevo — sends a text to a mobile number through your own Brevo account. Brevo takes SMS credits from the account for each message.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan. Viewers see the step's settings but cannot change them.
Before you start
- A Brevo connection in this workspace — see Connect Brevo.
- SMS credits in Brevo.
Steps
- Select + where the text should be sent. In the step picker, open Apps, select Brevo, then Send a transactional SMS. Or search Brevo.
- In Connection, choose your Brevo connection. If it is the only one, it is already chosen.
- In Sender, who it comes from — Up to 11 letters, or a number. For example Consulace.
- In To, the number to send to, with the country code. For example +91 98765 43210 is written +919876543210 (an example number). The
+is taken off before sending; leave out spaces. Or drag in a number from an earlier step. - In Message, type the text. Use
{{ }}for values from earlier steps. - Select Run this step to send a test.
Output
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
messageId |
Brevo's id for the message. |
smsCount |
How many SMS it took — a long message is sent as several, and each spends credit. |
Good to know
- The step succeeds when Brevo accepts the message, not when the phone receives it. Brevo's SMS logs show delivery.
- Long texts are split. Over 160 characters (fewer with characters outside the basic alphabet, such as Hindi) the message is sent in parts, each counted in
smsCount. - Each country has its own sender rules, which Brevo and the operators apply. Some countries replace or refuse a sender name. For Indian numbers the sender and the text must be registered under DLT — see SMS to India: DLT templates in Connect MSG91 for what that means.
- Runs once per item. Ten items send ten texts.
