  2. In Connection, choose your Trello connection.
  3. In Board, choose the board — for example Consulace clients · Consulace. In List, choose the list — To do. Lists come in the board's own order.
  4. In Name, type the card's name — Onboard Northwind Logistics.
  5. Optional:
    • Description — Trello's Markdown.
    • Due — A date, or a date and time. With no time zone, UTC. For example 2026-10-09 11:30.

    • Members — Someone on the board — or, as a value, several names, @usernames or ids separated with commas. People show their username — Asha Raghunathan · @asha.
    • Position — Top of the list or Bottom (the default).
    • Attach a file — A file from an earlier step. Or Or attach a link — a web address, https://….
  6. Select Run this step to try it. This adds a real card.

  1. In Card, the card's id or link — The card's id or link — from an earlier step, such as Create a card or Find a card.
  2. Optional: in Board, the card's board — Only to choose a list, labels or members from it.
  3. Fill in only what should change:
    • Move to list — Empty leaves it where it is.
    • Name and Description — Empty leaves it.
    • Due — Empty leaves it; none clears it. With no time zone, UTC.
    • Due date done — Leave it, Done or Not done.
    • Labels — Replaces its labels — names or ids separated with commas; none clears them. Empty leaves them.

  3. Under Position, Top of the list or Bottom.

Add a comment, Add a checklist item, Add a label, Add a member:

  1. In Card, the card's id or link.
  2. For Add a comment, type the Comment.

Output

Step What it gives
Create a card, Update a card, Move a card, Add a label, Add a member The card — id, name, description, url, listId, listName, boardId, boardName, dueDate, dueComplete, labels, members, closed.
Find a card count, cards (each with the keys above) and first.
Add a comment The comment's id, cardId and text.
Add a checklist item The item's id and name, and checklistId.
Create a list The list's id, name and boardId.

labels is a list of label names (a label with no name by its colour), members a list of full names, dueDate a time in UTC — 2026-10-09T11:30:00Z.

Good to know

  • Find a card gives one item, with count, the list of cards and the first. When nothing matches, the run goes down When nothing is found instead, with found set to false — see When a Find step finds nothing.
  • Find a card reads the board's cards as they are now, so a card made a moment ago is found.
  • Archiving is not deleting. Archived › Archive archives a card; Reopen sends it back to the board.
  • Labels and members are the board's own. After moving a card to another board, its labels may not exist there.
  • Add a label and Add a member change nothing when the card already has that label or person.
  • Each item runs the step once. Ten items add ten cards.

If something goes wrong

What you see Why What to do
“…” is not a Trello card id or link. Card came out as something else. Check the value it reads — an id, or a trello.com/c/… link.
Card is empty when the step ran — an earlier step may not have given the value it names. The earlier step gave no id. Check the earlier step's output.
Give at least one thing to change. Update a card has nothing filled in. Fill in what should change.
Due “next week” is not a date Trello understands — 2026-10-09 11:30, say. Due is not a date. Give a date, or a date and time.
The board Consulace clients has no label “Urgent”. Choose one from the list. Labels names a label the board lacks. Choose from the list, or use Add a label, which makes it.
rohan is not a member of the board Consulace clients. Choose one from the list. The person is not on the board. Add them to the board in Trello, or choose another.
Attach a link takes a web address; “…” is not one. Or attach a link is not an https:// or http:// address. Give a whole web address.
Nothing to pick — "This card has no checklists. Type a name, and Bizomate makes it." The card has no checklist. Type a name in Checklist.
"Trello refused: invalid token. Check the connection's details on Connections." The token was revoked in Trello. Allow a new token and select Replace token on the connection.
"Trello refused: The requested resource was not found." The card or list was deleted, or the account left the board. Check the id, and that the account is on the board.
"Could not reach Trello: …" or "Trello did not answer within 30 seconds." Trello could not be reached, or was asked too often. The step can try again — see Make a step try again when it fails.
