Ask for a change changes a workflow's draft from a sentence — Also email me a summary every evening, Post it in #accounts instead of #sales — and tells you what it changed. It works on any workflow that runs straight through, whether you built it with Describe it or by hand.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan. Viewers do not see Ask for a change in the ⋯ menu.
Each change counts as one of the company's plans for the day — see Good to know.
Before you start
- The workflow has a trigger. Ask for a change appears in the menu only once it does.
- The workflow runs straight through, one step after another — no IF or Switch paths, no loops, no merges.
Steps
Open the workflow in the designer.
Select ⋯ (More) at the top right, then Ask for a change. The Ask for a change panel opens on the right.
In the box (“Also email me a summary every evening.”), say what to add, remove or change. Up to 2,000 characters. For example: Also post the invoice number in #accounts.
Select Change the draft. The button reads Changing the draft while Bizomate works.
The canvas shows the changed workflow, and the panel says what changed:
- Changed: added Tell #accounts — a step was added.
- Changed: added Send an email · removed Tell #sales — steps were added and removed.
- Changed the steps’ settings — no step was added or removed; only settings changed.
Check the result on the canvas. New steps say Drafted — check it, and settings Bizomate guessed say Check this. See Check a drafted workflow.
If it is not what you wanted, select Undo this change under the summary. The draft goes back to how it was before.
To ask for another change, type it in the box and select Change the draft again.
Select ✕ at the top of the panel to close it.
What happens next
- The draft saves at once. What is live does not change until you publish. See Publish a workflow.
- Steps that stay the same keep their name, key, marks, failure setting, skip setting and pinned output. Later steps that read them still work.
- Connections stay per app. Every step for an app the workflow already used gets the connection that app had. A step for a new app gets the workspace's connection for it when there is exactly one; otherwise you choose one on the step. If two steps used different connections for the same app, or a step used a connection variable, check their connections afterwards.
- Sticky notes stay where they are.
What it can change
| You can ask | It cannot |
|---|---|
| Add a step — also send a WhatsApp message to the customer | Add a second trigger. A workflow has one trigger. |
| Remove a step — don't tell #sales any more | Change a workflow with IF or Switch paths, a loop, or a merge |
| Change a setting — send it to rohan@consulace.com instead | Add paths, loops or merges |
| Change the trigger — start it every Friday at 5pm instead | Add steps beyond your plan's limit for one workflow (20 on Free, 250 on Starter) |
| Change the order of steps |
For paths, loops and merges, change the workflow on the canvas. See Add a step.
What the AI sees
Under the box: Sent to the AI: your words, the steps and their settings, and your connections’ names. Never run data or keys.
- Sent: your words; each step's kind, name and settings as they are in the draft — including anything you typed into a setting, such as a message or an email address; and the name and app of each working connection in the workspace.
- Never sent: anything a run has handled, pinned output, keys, passwords or tokens.
- It uses Claude, an AI model from Anthropic, through Bizomate's own account.
Good to know
- Each Change the draft counts as one plan against the company's day — 5 on Free, 30 on Starter, 100 on Pro, fair use on Enterprise — whatever the answer, unless the AI could not be reached. Undo this change does not count. See Describe a workflow and let Bizomate build it.
- Undo this change is the designer's own undo. Ctrl Z does the same, and Redo puts the change back. Undo remembers your last 50 changes in this visit.
- Bizomate is asked to keep everything you did not mention as it is, but check the steps it shows as changed. A step whose name changed counts as a new step: it is marked Drafted — check it again and loses its pinned output.
- The panel does not show the meter. It shows on the Describe it box.
