When Bizomate builds a workflow from your description, it marks what you should look at before it runs: every step it made says Drafted — check it, and every setting it guessed says Check this. This article explains the marks, how they clear, and what Publish does with any left.

Who can do this

Workspace Admins and Editors clear the marks. Viewers see them on the canvas, but opening a step does not clear its mark for them, and they do not see Looks right.

Before you start

The workflow was built with Build it — see Describe a workflow and let Bizomate build it — or changed with Ask for a change — see Change a draft by asking.

The marks

Mark Where What it means How it clears
Drafted — check it On the step's card on the canvas (Bizomate drafted this step from your description. Open it to check it.) Bizomate made this step, and nobody has opened it since. Open the step.
1 field to check (or 2 fields to check…) On the step's card How many of its settings Bizomate guessed. Clear each Check this on the step.
Check this Beside a setting's name, in the step's settings Your description did not say this value; Bizomate chose it — or it is a question from the plan that you left unanswered. Change the value, or select Looks right.

Steps

  1. Open the workflow in the designer. Steps Bizomate made show Drafted — check it on their cards.
  2. Select the first step to open its settings. The Drafted — check it mark leaves its card at once. While the step stays open, a note at the top of its settings says: Drafted — check it. Bizomate drafted this step from your description. Check each field, then it stops saying so.
  3. Read every setting. A setting marked Check this says under it: Guessed — your description did not say.
  4. For each Check this:
    • If the value is wrong, change it. The mark clears as soon as you do.
    • If the value is right, select Looks right beside Guessed — your description did not say. The value stays and the mark clears.
  5. Check the connection the step uses. Where the workspace has exactly one connection for the app, Bizomate chose it; otherwise choose one. See Step settings, input and output.
  6. Repeat for each step, the trigger first.
  7. Test the workflow before you publish it. See Testing a workflow before you publish it.

When you publish with marks left

Select Publish as usual. Bizomate checks, in this order: steps that need setup, then steps that need a paid plan, then Describe it's marks. If any marks are left, a panel opens under Publish:

  • The title counts them: 1 step Bizomate drafted is not checked, or 3 steps Bizomate drafted are not checked.
  • Bizomate drafted these from your description and guessed some of their settings. Check them, or publish as they are.
  • Each line names the step and what is left on it: Drafted — check it, 1 field to check, or Drafted — check it · 2 fields to check.
  • At the foot: Drafted steps can publish. Check them first if you can.

Then choose:

  • Go to step on a line — opens that step so you can check it. Then select Publish again.
  • Publish anyway — the button reads Checking, and publishing carries on as usual: the test-keys question if a step uses a test-mode connection, then Publish v1 with its optional note. See Publish a workflow.

What happens next

  • Opening a step clears its Drafted mark for good, even if you change nothing. Undo does not bring it back.
  • Publish anyway applies to that one publish. The marks stay on the steps, and the next Publish shows the panel again until they are cleared.
  • The marks do not affect runs. A marked step runs exactly as its settings say.

Good to know

  • Duplicating a marked step copies its marks. Replacing a step with another kind clears them. See Rename, duplicate, skip or remove a step.
  • Exporting a workflow to a file leaves the marks out, so an imported copy has none. See Export workflows to a file.
  • An HTTP Request standing in for an app Bizomate does not have has no settings filled in. Publishing stops at needs setup until you give it at least its Address. See Fix steps marked Needs setup.
  • Steps you add yourself never carry these marks.

If something goes wrong

What you see Why What to do
2 steps Bizomate drafted are not checked when you select Publish Some steps were never opened, or still have guessed settings. Select Go to step on each line and check it, or select Publish anyway.

1 step needs setup comes before the drafted-steps panel A step is missing something it needs to run — often the HTTP Request's Address, or a connection. Finish it first. See Fix steps marked Needs setup.
