Output

Step What it gives
Create a task, Update a task, Get a task, Create a subtask The task — id, name, description, url, status, priority (Urgent, High, Normal or Low), assignees, tags, dueDate, createdAt, listId, listName, parentId (for a subtask), and each custom field by its name.
Find tasks count, tasks (each with the keys above) and first.
Add a comment The comment's id, taskId and text.
Attach a file The attachment's id, name and url.
Track time The time entry's id, taskId, startAt, duration (minutes) and durationText (1 h 30 min).

assignees is a list of usernames, dueDate and createdAt times in UTC. A custom field comes out by its type: a drop-down by its option's name, labels and people as lists of names, a checkbox as true or false.

Good to know

  • Find tasks gives one item, with count, the list of tasks and the first. When nothing matches, the run goes down When nothing is found instead, with found set to false — see When a Find step finds nothing.
  • Find tasks leaves out closed tasks unless Include closed tasks is on, or Statuses names some — naming statuses takes closed ones of those names too. Subtasks are included.
  • Statuses and custom fields belong to the list. Choosing another list in the step loads its own.
  • Track time needs time tracking turned on for the ClickUp Space — the Time Tracking ClickApp.
  • Each item runs the step once. Ten items add ten tasks.

If something goes wrong

What you see Why What to do
Task “…” is not a ClickUp id. Task came out as something else. Check the value it reads — an id, or a task's address.
Nothing to change — give a name, description, status, priority, due date, assignees or a custom field. Update a task has nothing filled in. Fill in what should change.
Choose the list — custom fields are the list's own. Custom fields are filled in with no List. Choose the task's list.
Nobody called “…” is in your ClickUp workspaces — give their email, username or user id. An assignee is not in any ClickUp Workspace the token reaches. Check the email or username.
Priority “…” is not one of Urgent, High, Normal or Low. A priority from an earlier step is something else. Give one of the four, or 1 to 4.
Due date “…” is not a date — 2026-10-09, or 2026-10-09T11:30:00Z with a time. A date field is not a date. Give a date, or a date and time.
Duration “…” is not a length of time — 90 (minutes), 1h 30m or 1:30. Duration cannot be read. Write it as minutes or hours and minutes.
Stage has no option “Won”. Its options: Lead, Proposal, Signed. The value is not one of the field's options. Use one of the options it names.
The list has no custom field named “Stage”. Refresh the fields and choose again. The field was renamed or removed in ClickUp. Select Refresh on Custom fields.
"ClickUp refused: Status not found." The status was renamed or removed, or is not one of this list's. Use a status the list has.
"ClickUp refused: … Check the connection's details on Connections." The token was regenerated, or the account cannot reach that list. Replace the token, or ask for access to the list.
"Could not reach ClickUp: …" or "ClickUp did not answer within 30 seconds." ClickUp could not be reached, or was asked too often. The step can try again — see Make a step try again when it fails.
