Jotform submissions into Airtable starts a run each time someone submits one of your Jotform forms, and adds the submission to an Airtable table as a record. It runs on every plan, Free included. This article shows how to install it and fill in each step.
Who can do this
Workspace Admins and Editors. Templates are on every plan, and this one uses no premium connection.
Before you start
- A Jotform connection. See Connect Jotform.
- An Airtable connection. See Connect Airtable.
- An Airtable table with a field for each answer you want to keep. The template fills fields named Email, Form and Submitted. Name your fields the same, spelled the same way, or fill in your own fields instead.
Steps
Install it
- On Workflows, select the arrow beside + New workflow, then From a template.
- In Search templates, type Jotform.
- On Jotform submissions into Airtable, select Use this template.
- In Install into, choose the workspace or project, then select Install as a draft.
- The toast says Installed as a draft, for example Jotform submissions into Airtable is in Consulace. Connect Jotform and Airtable, then publish. An app it doesn't name had one connection in the workspace, and the template has chosen it. Select Open it. The workflow opens in the designer with two steps.
Fill in the steps
- Select When the form is submitted (Jotform · New submission). Choose the Jotform Connection, then the Form.
- Select Add it to the table (Airtable · Create a record).
- Choose the Airtable Connection, then the Base and the Table.
- Under Fields, each row is one of the table's fields. Email, Form and Submitted are filled in already where your table has them. One your table doesn't have shows in a row of its own, marked No longer one of the fields. Put its value in your own field's row instead, then select Remove.
- Fill in a row for each other answer, using its name from the trigger's output, such as
{{ trigger.delivery_address }}. - Convert values is on, so Airtable turns text like 2026-10-28 into a date where the field is a date.
- Publish the workflow. Publishing sets up the trigger in Jotform. Until then no submission reaches Bizomate, and Test run has none to start with, so the steps run with the trigger's fields empty.
- To try it, submit the form yourself. Once published the workflow is on, so your submission runs it. To run it again with the same submission, open the trigger's Output, select Use the last event, then Test run. See How instant triggers work.
What happens next
- Each submission adds one record.
- Uploaded files come with the run. To keep them in Airtable, add Airtable · Upload an attachment after this step.
Good to know
- A name or address question gives its parts, such as
{{ trigger.full_name.first }}or{{ trigger.delivery_address.city }}. - A question left unanswered is still there, empty, so the record is still added.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Steps marked Needs setup | A connection, form, base or table isn't chosen yet | Open each one and fill it in. See Fix steps marked Needs setup. |
| The step stops with "… has no field named “Email”. Refresh the fields and choose again." | The table has no field with that name | Put the value in one of your table's fields under Fields, and Remove the row marked No longer one of the fields. |
| Airtable refuses a value | The value doesn't suit the field's type | Check the field's type in Airtable, and the answer you put in it. |
