Zoom · Get a recording fetches a meeting's cloud recording as files: the video, the audio and the transcript. Later steps can save them, send them, or pass the transcript to an AI step for meeting notes.

Who can do this

Workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan.

Before you start

  • A Zoom connection in this workspace. See Connect Zoom.
  • Cloud recording on for the meeting. Transcripts need Zoom's audio transcript setting on.

Steps

  1. Select +, then in Apps select Zoom, and choose Get a recording.
  2. Choose the Connection.
  3. In Meeting, give the meeting — usually {{ $json.uuid }} from New recording, which names that one recording. A meeting's id works too, and gives its latest recording; for a repeating meeting, use the uuid.
  4. Choose the files: Video, Audio and Transcript are each on unless you turn them off.
  5. Select Run this step, then check Output.

Output

What
meetingId, uuid, topic, start, duration The meeting, and this recording's own id.
count, files How many files were fetched, and each one's name (video.mp4, audio.m4a, transcript.vtt; a second view of the video is video-2.mp4), type (video, audio, transcript) and size in bytes.
shareUrl The recording's page in Zoom.
note Present when a file was left out — too large, or still being processed by Zoom.
The files With the item, ready for the next steps.

Good to know

  • Each file must fit the 250 MB limit for files between steps. One over it is not downloaded; note says video.mp4 was left out: over the 250 MB limit for files between steps. Turn Video off and fetch the audio or transcript instead. See Pass files between steps.
  • A recording takes time after the meeting ends. Start from New recording, which waits until every file is processed.
  • Chat files, captions and Zoom's summaries are not fetched — only video, audio and transcript.

If something goes wrong

What the run says Why What to do
"Zoom refused: This recording does not exist." Recording was off, or the meeting id is wrong. Use New recording as the trigger and its uuid.
note says a file was left out It was larger than the limit, or Zoom is still processing it. Turn that file off, or run again later.
"Zoom refused the download of video.mp4: …" Zoom would not give the file. Check the app has the recordings scope.
"Zoom did not finish sending video.mp4 within 5 minutes." A large file took too long. Fetch the audio or transcript instead.
