When a workflow's Ask a person step asks you something, Bizomate tries your channels in order, and moves to the next one if you have not answered. Settings > Answer requests on sets that order. It is the same in every workflow, in every workspace.
The channels are the Bizomate app (the Requests page and the bell), Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram and SMS once they are available, and email. A channel that is not available yet does not appear in the list. The line under the list names the channels still to come: WhatsApp and RCS.
Who can do this
Everyone, for their own account.
Steps
- Select your photo or initials at the top right, then Settings.
- Select Answer requests on under Account. When a workflow asks you something, we try these in order — the next one if you haven't answered.
- Read the list:
- Bizomate app — The Requests page and the bell in the top bar, or the devices you turned push on for, such as Chrome on Android · push on. It shows On.
- Slack — Not linked until you link it, then your Slack workspace and name, such as Consulace · @rohan, with Linked.
- Microsoft Teams — Not linked until you link it, then your company and name, such as Consulace · Rohan Mehta, with Linked.
- Telegram — Not linked until you link it, then the Telegram account you linked, such as @rohan, with Linked.
- SMS — Not verified until you link your number, then the number, such as +44 7700 900123, with Verified.
- Email — your account's email address. It shows Always last.
Turn on push on a phone or computer
With push on, the Bizomate app's requests also come as a notification on that device, even when Bizomate is closed.
- On the phone or computer, open Answer requests on and select Turn on push on this device.
- When the browser asks, allow notifications.
- The page says Push is on for this device. Requests reach it now, as well as the Requests page and the bell. The device shows under Bizomate app.
On an iPhone or iPad, push works only in Bizomate added to the Home Screen. In Safari, select Share, then Add to Home Screen. Open Bizomate from the Home Screen, sign in, and turn push on there.
To stop push on a device, select Turn off push beside it.
Link Slack
- Beside Slack, select Link. Slack opens and asks you to allow Bizomate in your Slack workspace.
- Choose the workspace if Slack asks, then select Allow.
- You are back on Answer requests on: Slack is linked. Your requests reach you there now. Requests come as a direct message from Bizomate's app.
Some workspaces let only their admins add apps. Slack then asks for an admin's approval first.
Link SMS
- Beside SMS, select Link.
- In Mobile number, with the country code, type your number starting with + — for example +44 7700 900123 — and select Send code.
- A text arrives: Your Bizomate code is 482 913. It works once, for 10 minutes. Type the code and select Link.
- The page says SMS is linked. Your requests reach you there now.
To answer a request by text, reply with the number of the answer: Reply 1 Approve, 2 Reject. A reply answers the newest request texted to you.
Link Microsoft Teams
- Beside Microsoft Teams, select Link. A box opens: Send this code to Bizomate in a Teams chat. It works once, for 10 minutes.
- Select Add Bizomate to Teams and add the app. If your organisation already allows Bizomate, you don't need to: Bizomate has said hello in Teams — Hi Rohan — send the code from Bizomate here to link Teams.
- Send the code in that chat with Bizomate.
- Back in Bizomate, select Done. The page says Microsoft Teams is linked. Your requests reach you there now.
If the box says Your organisation's admin needs to approve Bizomate for Teams first, select Copy message and send it to your Teams admin. Once they have allowed the app, select Link again.
Link Telegram
- Beside Telegram, select Link. A box opens: Open Bizomate's Telegram bot and send this code. It works once, for 10 minutes.
- Select Open @… to open Bizomate's bot in Telegram, and press Start. Or, in Telegram, find the bot and send it the six-digit code.
- The bot replies Got it. Now select Done in Bizomate to finish linking this chat.
- Back in Bizomate, select Done. The page says Telegram is linked. Your requests reach you there now.
Change the order
Drag a row up or down. The order saves as soon as you let go: Order saved. Every workflow's requests follow it from now on. To use the keyboard instead, select a row with Tab, then hold Alt and press the up or down arrow. Email always stays last.
Unlink a channel
Select Unlink beside it. Requests stop going there at once.
What happens next
- You are asked on your first channel first. By SMS, the text numbers the answers you can give by reply. On Slack, Microsoft Teams and Telegram, the request is a message with one button per answer — up to six in Teams; with more, the card links to the request in Bizomate. An answer you give there counts at once. A push notification shows the answers as its buttons when the browser can show them all; otherwise tap it to open the request.
- If you have not answered within the time the workflow's step allows — 15 minutes unless it says otherwise — the request goes to your next channel.
- A channel you have not linked is skipped, so it costs you no wait.
- A step can narrow the channels. With Only these channels, it asks only on the channels it ticks.
- Once the request is answered, the buttons go, and the message says how it ended: Done — Approve. if you answered, or Already answered — Approve, by Asha Raghunathan in the Bizomate app. if someone else did.
- Every request is also on the Requests page. Whatever the channel, each request waits for you on Requests until it's answered or its time runs out. The first answer anywhere wins; an answer can't be changed once it's given.
Good to know
- Linked accounts are the only ones whose answers count. An answer from a Slack, Teams or Telegram account you did not link is ignored.
- Some answers open Bizomate instead. An answer that needs a reason shows (in Bizomate) on its button. So does one over the step's amount on Telegram, SMS and push, because it needs your passkey or second step. Slack and Microsoft Teams prove it is you, so that answer is given right there. Reply in words opens Bizomate too.
- Email is always last, so a request always reaches you somewhere.
- Request emails go to your account's email address. To use another, change it — see Change your email address.
- Requests are not part of Notifications. Turning emails off in Settings > Notifications does not stop them.
