A ClickUp connection lets workflows create, update, get and find tasks, comment, attach files, make subtasks and track time — and start a run the moment a task is added, changes status, is changed or is commented on. It connects with your personal API token from ClickUp. Everything the steps do is done as you.
Who can do this
- In Bizomate: workspace Admins and Editors, on every plan — ClickUp is not a premium connection. Viewers see the connection but cannot add or change it.
- In ClickUp: anyone can copy their own token. It reaches every ClickUp Workspace, Space and List that account can.
Steps
In ClickUp, copy the token:
- Sign in to ClickUp. Select your avatar, then Settings.
- In the menu on the left, select Apps.
- Under API Token, select Generate — or, if there is one already, Copy. It starts
pk_.
In Bizomate, add the connection:
- Select Connections in the bar at the top, then + Add connection.
- Under Productivity, select ClickUp. It reads "Stored credential".
- In Connection name, type a name — for example Consulace ClickUp.
- Paste the token in Personal API token — placeholder
pk_…. In ClickUp: your avatar › Settings › Apps › API Token › Generate. It acts as you, in every Workspace you are in. - Leave Test the connection before saving ticked. Bizomate asks ClickUp whose token it is before keeping it.
- Select Save connection. The button reads Testing while ClickUp is asked.
The toast "Connection added" says what ClickUp answered — for example "“Consulace ClickUp” is ready. Reached Rohan Mehta · ClickUp Workspace Consulace."
What happens next
- The connection appears under Productivity. Its panel shows Replace token, Test and Revoke — never the token. Stored encrypted. Secret fields are never shown again after you save.
- Test answers with your ClickUp username and the ClickUp Workspaces it reaches — Reached Rohan Mehta · ClickUp Workspace Consulace, or Reached Rohan Mehta · 2 ClickUp Workspaces.
- ClickUp steps and triggers list it under Connection. Their Workspace list shows how many members each has — Consulace · 12 members.
Good to know
- ClickUp has one token per account. Selecting Regenerate in ClickUp stops the old one, and every ClickUp step with it. Then open the connection's panel, select Replace token, paste the new token and select Replace token. The toast "Token replaced" says "Workflows that use “Consulace ClickUp” use the new key from their next run."
- A ClickUp Workspace is not a Bizomate workspace. ClickUp's steps call it Workspace too; it is the top level of your ClickUp account.
- Signing in with ClickUp instead of a token is not offered yet; the token is the only way to connect.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| ClickUp refused it — "ClickUp refused: … Check the connection's details on Connections. Nothing was saved." | The token was mistyped or regenerated. | Copy the token again from Settings › Apps. |
| "Fill in Personal API token." | The box is empty. | Paste the token. |
| Nothing to pick — "The token reaches no Workspace. Make it while signed in to the ClickUp account its workflows use, then Refresh." | The account is in no ClickUp Workspace. | Copy the token from the right ClickUp account. |
| "Could not reach ClickUp: …" or "ClickUp did not answer within 30 seconds." | ClickUp could not be reached. | Try again in a few minutes. |
